During the timber preparation, they leave all nail holes and scars to try and maintain as much of the 'weathered wood' appearance as possible, making each piece unique and characterful. To create the distressed white finish, the timber has to undergo meticulous preparation where it is hand-rubbed, and then re-finished. This process is repeated until the designer's envisioned appearance is flawlessly attained.
